—Captain Bill Lowman is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed charter fishing captain. He and his son, Captain Aaron Lowman, whose 24′ Carolina Skiff is also docked at the Seafood Shack in Cortez,
specialize in charter fishing the waters surrounding Anna Maria Island, Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

—After moving to Florida in the early ’80’s, Captain Bill realized that like most newcomers, he loved to fish, but there was much to learn about fishing in Florida. He began fishing at every opportunity…freshwater…saltwater….inshore…offshore. Then along with his wife, Jennifer, they started Lowman Publishing. For many years they wrote, photographed and published widely read local fishing periodicals such as; “Fishing Manatee Monthly” and “Fishing Sarasota Monthly” and more. In 1988, Captain Bill opened a full service, professional-style tackle shop, Island Discount Tackle, on Anna Maria Island. For over 25 years, Island Discount Tackle was the “hub” of fishing and boating on Anna Maria Island.

—Bill’s fishes out of his roomy, stable 26′ Sea Cat catamaran dual hull boat powered by twin 150 hp Yamaha outboard motors.

Bradenton and Sarasota, Captain Bill targets tarpon, redfish, seatrout, snook, snapper, grouper,amberjack, sharks, king mackerel, spanish mackerel, cobia AND MORE!

—USCG Licensed and insured. Full array of the latest electronics and safety equipment on board including radar and EPIRB. No fishing license required. All bait & tackle is supplied.
